Questions

FAQ

Can I bring my children?

Yes! Children are welcome at all events.

Do I need to attend all the events?

Not at all! We'd love to see you at as many events as you can make, but there's no obligation to attend everything. The ceremony and reception on August 8th is the main event.

What airport should I fly into?

Fly into Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) in San Jose, Costa Rica. It's the country's main international airport with flights from most major US cities.

How do I get from the airport to Manuel Antonio?

Manuel Antonio is approximately a 3-hour drive from SJO. Options include private shuttle services, rental cars (available at the airport with well-maintained roads for this route), or a short domestic flight from SJO to Quepos (the nearest town).

Do I need a passport?

Yes. US citizens need a valid passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates). No visa is required for stays under 90 days.

What is the weather like in August?

August in Manuel Antonio is warm and tropical — expect highs around 85-90°F (29-32°C). August falls within Costa Rica's "green season" (rainy season), which means you can expect afternoon rain showers, but mornings and evenings are typically clear and beautiful. Pack light layers, sunscreen, and a light rain jacket.

What currency is used in Costa Rica?

Costa Rica uses the Costa Rican Colón (CRC), but US dollars are widely accepted in tourist areas like Manuel Antonio. Credit cards are accepted at most establishments.

Is it safe to travel to Costa Rica?

Costa Rica is one of the safest countries in Central America and a very popular tourist destination. As with any travel, use normal precautions with your belongings.

Do I need any vaccinations?

No special vaccinations are required for Costa Rica. Consult your doctor if you have specific health concerns.

What is included at Villa Punto De Vista?

The villa rate of $2,500 for 4 nights (Aug 6-10) includes your room, daily complimentary breakfast, and full staff (bartender, housekeeping, security). Chef services for additional meals are available at extra cost. Rooms can be set up as a King bed or 2 Twin beds.

How do I reserve a room at the villa?

Indicate your interest on the RSVP form and contact us directly. A $500 deposit is required to hold your room. Space is limited.

Are there other places to stay nearby?

Yes! Manuel Antonio has many hotels and vacation rentals starting around from ~$150+/night. We can help with recommendations — just reach out!

What should I pack?

Essentials for a tropical destination wedding include: sunscreen (reef-safe preferred), bug spray/insect repellent, swimwear, a light rain jacket, comfortable walking shoes for exploring, and of course your outfit for the ceremony! The villa and nearby shops have basics, but it is best to bring your own sunscreen and bug spray.
